The VFD-W6 is a water-cooled AC drive designed to control the speed and torque on a 600V induction motor. Water-cooled drives are typically used to reduce the size of the line-up, reduce air-conditioning requirements, and reduce noise levels. The VFD-W6 drive is designed with modular, high-current, IGBT modules that can be paralleled to provide a wide range of horsepower. The IGBT modules are cooled with a mixture of standard tap water & glycol and a pump cabinet is typically supplied with the line-up. These drives can be configured as stand-alone units, packaged into a common-DC bus line-up, or supplied with Active Front End rectifiers for regenerating energy. If harmonics need to be attenuated, then the drives can be supplied with phases shifted rectifiers or with filtering equipment. The VFD-W6 is designed for front access and can easily be integrated into line-ups with other switchgear and packaged into electrical buildings. |
